A Discussion on the DRAFT NATIONAL FOOD SECURITY BILL

CUTS International and Parliamentarian Forum on Human Rights for Global Development (PFHRGD) jointly organised Hon?ble Parliamentarians meeting at New Delhi, on December 20, 2011. The meeting brought together parliamentarians, economists, media etc., on a common platform to discuss and provide their views/comments on the Draft National Food Security Bill.
While PARFORE is an initiative of CUTS International to bring Members of Parliament (MPs), cutting across party lines, on a single platform to deliberate on the core economic policy issues that are relevant for reforms, PFHRGD is a platform for Members of Parliament (MPs), cutting cross party lines, and catering for the need to discuss and act on human rights violations in the world on general and in India specifically.
The meeting was attended by parliamentarians representing both the houses, Lok Sabha as well as Rajya Sabha. Apart from parliamentarians, select media representatives were also present in the meeting.
